For the muddy-minded, adventure-seeking lady, there’s no shortage of women’s mud run events in the U.S. and across the world.

womens mud runs

Mud runs for women have increased in popularity over the past several years, inspiring ladies to dress up in fun costumes, tackle military style obstacles, and bond over beer. It beats slogging miles on the treadmill or working out in the gym, right?

Don’t be a stick in the mud, give one of these worldwide events a try for one of your upcoming girls getaways!

Filthy Girl Mud Run

If a trip to the United Kingdom is on your bucket list, why not try the girls-only Filthy Girl Mud Run? There are a few different locations to choose from.

The 5k/10k obstacle course is followed by an exclusive after party and a 2-night summer camping weekend.

It’s a glamping weekend at its finest — complete with luxury showers, nail technicians, and champagne at the finish line.

Dirty Girl Mud Run

In the U.S., the Dirty Girl Mud Run takes place at several resort towns across the country — including Copper Mountain, Colorado and Killington, Vermont.

It’s a weekend of partying and running a 5k with 14 obstacles. You’ll tackle tubes, tunnels, slides, mazes, and nets all the way to the finish line.

Sounds like a playground for adults!

While spending a long summer weekend at Copper Mountain, be sure to add other activities to your itinerary — like biking, hiking, rafting, and golf.

If you’ll be attending this women’s mud run in Vermont, then you might also enjoy golfing or exploring the Killington mountain bike park.

Gritty Goddess 5k Obstacle Course

Mud, sand, water…and foam. Be prepared to experience it all at the Gritty Goddess 5k Obstacle Course in Galveston, Texas.

The course meanders through Moody Gardens, Palm Beach, and the mud and muck on the banks of the Offats Bayou.

If any of the obstacles seem too daunting, you can skip them.

Do the race solo, or grab the girls to compete on a team. Discounted entry fees are offered to college and high school students.

Mudmoiselle 5k Obstacle Course

A filthy 5k is on tap for the Ontario, Canada Mudmoiselle.

This event is open to all fitness levels and has more than 20 obstacles to tackle. Let your inner child run free while testing your endurance, strength, and grit.

Funds raised through the run go directly to the Canadian Cancer Society.

Mudmoiselle wants to drag cancer through the mud!

Miss Muddy Obstacle Race

A mud festival and obstacle race held at multiple locations throughout Australia, Miss Muddy is a 5k for participants 16 years old and over.

Let your hair down while you climb, crawl, slip, and slide through an un-timed course in a fun and supportive environment.

Mud runs are a great way to stay in shape without necessarily having to be super competitive.

Before entering an event, you will want to dial in the basics of physical conditioning that encompasses agility, speed, strength, and coordination to accomplish a race successfully.

The best part about women’s mud run events? Bonding with your friends and other women in a fun, inspiring environment.

Here are some great tips to help you prepare for your first mud run.

Good luck and have fun out there!
